Nora was selected as a 2021 Presidential Management Fellow!  The Presidential Management Fellows Program(link is external) is extremely competitive and a prestigious opportunity for those looking to jump-start a career in federal agencies.  This year, almost 7,000 graduate students across the United States applied and a total of 561 were selected as finalists for the program.

Nora is dedicating her career to public service and the intersection between the built and the natural environments. She began her career as a long-range city planner with the Town of Oro Valley, where she facilitated award-winning public participation on a general plan update, developed a concept plan for the economic and community heart of the town, and helped lead town strategic planning efforts. She then went on to work for the independent federal agency in the National Center for Environmental Conflict Resolution. There, she developed an award-winning project on flood risk communication with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, facilitated intergovernmental, tribal and stakeholder collaboration on endangered species recovery in the Missouri River, and worked with rural communities to imagine a future of cultural tourism around two national parks. She hopes to continue to work bettering communities, protecting natural resources, and increasing climate resilience through policy development. Nora has a B.S. in Sustainable Built Environments from the University of Arizona and recently graduated with a Master of Public Policy in May.

Congratulations Nora!
