Steven Brown Summer Internship Stipend

You must meet the following eligibility criteria to apply for the Steven Brown Summer Internship stipend:

  • Be a declared SGPP Major in Public Affairs (formerly Public Management & Policy) with junior or senior standing OR a Master of Public Administration graduate student
  • Be enrolled full-time 
  • Have a minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Have secured an unpaid summer internship
  • Have an approved Internship Work Plan on record with SGPP
  • Be enrolled in Internship Credit (PA 393 or PA 593)

Maximum award: $1,300

Please note that students who are selected to receive this award will be required to submit a Thank You Letter to the Donors of this fund prior to receiving the award.

All student stipends are contingent on the availability of funds, and credited to your Bursar's Account. Deficits on the Bursar's account will be satisfied before a refund will be issued. 

How to Apply 

Do not wait until the last minute to apply!  Applications should be received no later than the second week of the internship course.

  1. Complete the Online Application 
    As part of your application, you will need to provide the following:
    • Brief statement answering the following questions (minimum 250 words): 
      • How is this internship relevant to your major in the School of Government and Public Policy?
      • How will this internship help you achieve your future professional interests?
    • upload a current résumé - including current education, career, scholarship and volunteer experience
