Richard Prater
Rick retired in January 2018 as the Finance Manager for the Tucson Police Department, where his oversight included program analysis and spending associated with the General Fund, Restricted Fund Accounts and 70 federal, state, and local grants. In addition, his section was charged with fiduciary responsibilities associated with the statewide Southwest Border High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (SWB HIDTA) Program. Prior to this experience, Rick retired as a Major in the United States Air Force after serving for over 20 years in both operational and staff assignments. His military history includes over 2500 hours of flight experience as a Navigator/Weapons Systems Officer in B-52G and B-1B aircraft finishing as a senior Numbered Air Force evaluator. His Staff experience includes operational leadership positions culminating as lead planner integrating flight operations with ground missions during the initial stages of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2001. Currently, Rick is a Board Member and Vice Chairman for the Tucson Old Pueblo Credit Union.
