Our office is closed to the public, but all staff will be holding virtual office time from 8am- 5pm, Monday through Friday. Please allow up to 24 hours response time. Carl Bauer
Associate Professor, School of Geography & Development
Carl Bauer is Associate Professor in the School of Geography and Development, University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ. Bauer teaches and does research about comparative and international water law and policy, taking an interdisciplinary approach that combines law, geography, and political economy. During 2006-2013 he also directed UA’s Graduate Certificate in Water Policy. He was formerly a researcher at Resources for the Future, in Washington, DC, and he has been a consultant to numerous international organizations. His regional expertise is in Latin America and the Western United States. Bauer has a Ph.D. in Law and Social Policy from the University of California-Berkeley Law School, an M.S. in Geography from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a B.A. in Geology from Yale University.
