At NICD, we believe the American people will be our saving grace. We are less divided than we seem and hungrier for a more constructive approach to politics. NICD has developed a multi-faceted strategy to channel Americans’ yearning into a coherent and powerful force. Our bold vision, compelling strategy, and high-profile board members combine to set NICD apart as a leader in this movement. In addition to inspiring and organizing everyday Americans, our strategy is designed to encourage elected leaders to put country ahead of partisanship. 

Internship Available 

Spring: 

Oct. 20- Nov 2: Resumes accepted for consideration

Nov 3-14: Internship interviews (1-2 rounds)

Nov 17-18: Offer made to the preferred candidates

Summer: 

Feb. 24-March 21: Resumes accepted for consideration

April 1-11: Internship interviews (1-2 rounds)

Internship Description (Unpaid)

  • Support our CommonSense American (CSA) program, which engages over 84,000 Americans to advance legislation that garners grassroots support and drives positive change.
  • Contribute to the NICD State Legislative Program, aimed at empowering over 7,000 state legislators to bridge partisan divides and govern with respect and effectiveness.
  • Assist with Engaging Differences Disagree Better program, which brings together governors, policy leaders, and religious faith-based leaders to focus on how to engage differences more constructively.
