SBS Undergraduate – Lower-Division Teaching Award

This award recognizes superior and innovative teaching in lower-division undergraduate courses. One of the reviewers noted that, “Professor Tusing’s application shows him to be inspiring, detail-oriented, and organized. He is described as a ‘life-changing instructor’ who strives to make course content relevant and meaningful to students. He teaches large introductory courses with exceptionally high student evaluations, while maintaining high academic standards.”

This award recognizes superior and innovative teaching in upper-division undergraduate courses. One of the reviewers noted that, “Professor Galarte is a role model, delivers outstanding performance under challenging circumstances, and is demonstrably compassionate toward his students.”

Faten Ghosn, Associate Professor, School of Government and Public Policy

SBS Graduate Teaching Award

This award recognizes superior and innovative teaching in graduate courses. One of the reviewers noted that, “Professor Ghosn is highly committed to graduate education, creating rigorous, creative, and engaging courses. She excels in mentoring graduate students, seeing students as future scholars.”

SBS Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant/Associate Award

This award recognizes superior and innovative work by a graduate teaching assistant or associate. The nominating letter stated, “Her deep, abiding commitment to excellent teaching is driven by her desire to inspire curiosity about humans and the natural world. With countless hours spent mentoring students, a true flair for how to link concepts to engaging classroom experiences, all while maintaining high academic standards, we believe Ms. Singletary embodies the spirit and intent of the SBS Outstanding Teaching Award.”
