Voter Choice Arizona - Paid Internship

Voter Choice Arizona is a non-partisan, non-profit dedicated to bringing Ranked Choice Voting to Arizona. We work to educate voters and organizations about RCV, and are working towards a petition initiative to put RCV on the ballot in 2024.

Internship Description (Paid)

Responsibilities:
● Creating and publishing on-brand, on-message, quality content for Voter Choice Arizona digital
communications channels, consistently and regularly on TikTok and Twitter, when possible on
Instagram, and periodically on other platforms, like our blog, LinkedIn, etc.
● Educating and organizing the U of A community, particularly the student community, to support
and volunteer to advance Ranked Choice Voting. Special attention will be paid to compliance
with U of A University’s regulations governing student organizations and activities.
● Forming an effective and appropriate volunteer organizational structure for U of A Ranked
Choice Voting educational activities; launching this organization and recruiting volunteer
support.
● Working with the volunteer team on campus and Voter Choice AZ where needed to establish
and operate volunteer training and management in areas such as live outreach, volunteer
onboarding, volunteer mobilization, speaker training and engagements.
● Develop a basic plan of at least low-level fundraising to support rudimentary expenses of the
campus organization, if applicable.
● Expect to work sometimes on evenings and weekends, as necessary to execute the duties of
this role.
● This position will receive a $600 stipend for the term of the internship. Depending upon the
success of the role, promotion to a part-time campus organizing position or grassroots
organizing position are available after the semester. Training, materials and support will be
provided.

Purpose of the Internship

Voter Choice Arizona is seeking a Digital & Campus Organizing Intern to create and publish on-brand, on-message, quality content for our digital communication channels and organize and educate the U of A community on Ranked Choice Voting (RCV). The goal is to educate and promote RCV to the larger U of A community. Student interns will learn:
● Understand RCV and the goals of the organization
● Digital and social media management and related tools
● Public speaking and presentation skills
● Event planning and promotion
● Basic community organizing skills-outreach, phone bank, canvass, messaging
● Starting, growing a campus club, if applicable
● Interact with and learn from leaders in the RCV community, elected officials, and related
organizations

Agency Preferred Qualifications

● Passionate about promoting Ranked Choice Voting and experience with digital content
creation, social media management, and event organizing.
● Excellent written and oral communication skills.
● Strong organizational and project management skills.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
● Familiarity with U of A and related campus organizations a plus
