Description: Unpaid + Hybrid Available
Global Family Legal Services began its legal services operations in 2004 and in 2017 became a nonprofit 501(c)(3) public charity with a focus on immigration law having now served clients from 35 countries. In addition, our Southern Arizona office assists low-income clients with some civil legal issues on a low-bono or pro-bono basis. Our newly forming immigrant asylum network will connect our volunteer attorneys with asylum seekers needing representation. All GFLS legal services including this network aims to continue expanding our mission to provide access to justice via advocacy, counseling, and education — to revive confidence and cooperation among all people.
Student’s duties will consist of scanning, filing, and inputting information into a computer system, helping prepare paperwork, assisting with research, gathering evidence, translating documents, preparing intake templates, working with volunteer attorneys and perhaps accompanying them to court.
