Arizona Department of Corrections - Victim Services

The Office of Victim Services provides victim focused and victim-friendly services to crime victims and survivors, and Restorative Justice opportunities for offenders to be involved in victim-focused activities that will help them understand the impact of their criminal conduct on crime victims. The office also provides victim services to ADC staff.

Internship Description: Unpaid

An unpaid internship is available working directly with staff in the Office of Victim Services located in downtown Phoenix.

Purpose of the internship

This opportunity will provide you an understanding about the criminal justice system, court procedures, and victim’s rights. As an Intern, you will gain experience assisting crime victims and families during the post-conviction stage. You will acquire hands on experience with the day-to-day operations of the Office of Victim Services including assistance with victims at the parole hearings, notification to victims, research, compiling statistics, and office procedural work. In addition, you will have the flexibility to attend court hearings, trainings, network with collaborative agencies, and tour prisons and other agency Victim Services departments.

Agency minimum qualifications

Major in Criminal Justice, Behavioral Health/Social Work or a field related to victim services
