MPA Alumni Spotlight: Matthew Rash '20

Matthew Rash was appointed as a city council member in his hometown of Mammoth, AZ!  In September 2019, a council member resigned which opened up this great opportunity for Matthew.  He submitted a letter of interest, was appointed by the council and sworn in on October 17, 2019.  Matthew is one of seven council members in Mammoth, which is a small town of about 1500 residents.  Although the council member role is strictly voluntary, it is a great opportunity nonetheless!

Matthew is an MPA Alumni with an interest in Local Government, and also served as the Communications Chair for PASA.  Previously, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Studies with a minor in Psychology here at the University of Arizona.  He also previously interned for the Pima County Attorney's Office and for the Southern Arizona Children's Advocacy Center.
