The State Policy Fellowship program is a two-year research-oriented fellowship dedicated to making change through careful research, thoughtful advocacy, and strong partnerships in a state policy context. The Fellowship is a project of the State Priorities Partnership, a national network coordinated by the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, one of the nation’s premier policy institutes. Fellows will receive training and career development, will work with mentors, and will have access to ongoing opportunities for professional growth.

The Climate Assessment for the Southwest (CLIMAS) program is currently accepting applications for the 2025 Environment & Society Fellowship. This fellowship supports University of Arizona graduate students from any degree-granting program whose work is focused on collaborative environmental research or outreach. Up to four fellowships of $5,000 each will be awarded for projects occurring between May 2025–May 2026. Projects should incorporate a collaborative approach meaning that the project meets a need expressed by a partner or stakeholder (an organization, community, or person affected by your research outcomes). Competitive proposals will describe methods for engaging with partners or stakeholders during the research or outreach project. Projects can fall under one or more of the following categories: scoping research, dissertation/thesis work, developing a novel research output, or other kind of education and outreach.Boren Fellowships, an initiative of the National Security

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Science, Technology and Policy (STP) Program serves as a next step in the educational and professional development of scientists and engineers by providing opportunities to participate in policy-related projects at DOE's Office of Nuclear Energy (NE) in Washington, D.C.  Participants will become part of a group of highly-trained scientists and engineers with the education, background, and experience to be part of the workforce that supports the DOE's mission in the future.  You will have opportunities to enhance your quantitative and qualitative reasoning, critical thinking and problem solving, communication, and teamwork skills. You will receive training, mentoring, and additional support to effectively accomplish internship goals. Participants will receive a stipend to be determined by NE, and are typically based on the participant’s academic standing, discipline, experience, and research facility location.

UA Tech Launch Arizona and the Graduate College collaborate to provide U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident degree-seeking graduate students (main campus only) to gain practical startup company and technology commercialization experience. The selected Fellow will receive an hourly wage from Tech Launch and $10,000 Graduate Tuition Scholarship from the UA Graduate College that will apply to the fall and/or spring base graduate semester tuition during the Fellow’s tenure as a Student Entrepreneurial Fellow. Please note if the Fellow is concurrently appointed as a graduate assistant/associate (GA) at .50 FTE or higher, the tuition award will not apply due to the full tuition coverage provided as a benefit of the GA appointment. Applicants must be degree-seeking graduate student admitted to a main campus Master’s or doctoral program at the University of Arizona.

Post-Graduate Fellowship Opportunities

Applicants may include individuals who have recently completed their undergraduate or graduate degrees, as well as those with several years of work experience. Coro Fellows are diverse, talented individuals committed to positive change in their communities throughout their lives and careers. They are emerging innovators in business, policy and government who demonstrate exceptional leadership through their accomplishments, curiosity and civic involvement. Fellows are brought together by a common interest in creative leadership and civic engagement and building strong connections that will support them as they drive impact in their cities and organizations.

The CDC Evaluation Fellowship Program aims to expand the capacity of CDC programs to conduct evaluation and increase its usefulness and impact. The Fellowship signifies CDC’s dual commitment to making program evaluation a standard part of practice and to developing a cadre of professionals with the skills to make that happen. The Division of Workforce Development manages the Fellowship. Fellows are placed in host programs to work on program evaluation and related activities across the agency. With the CDC Evaluation Fellowship, programs continuously improve their work with the appropriate resources, tools, and leadership.
