Edwin Alvarado-Mena is a PhD student in the School of Government and Public Policy (SGPP) at the University of Arizona. His areas of interest are comparative public policy, political economy of development, and methods. His regional focus is on Latin America; more specifically, he is interested in Central American politics. Prior to attending the SGPP, he earned a Master's degree from the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO-Ecuador) and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Costa Rica. He also worked as a government advisor and was a Professor of Political Science at the University of Costa Rica. Beyond academia, Edwin can spend hours talking about boxing and Salsa music.
