Description (Unpaid)
Interns will work closely with the Citizens for Free Enterprise (CFFE) and Citizens for Free Enterprise Action (CFFEA) staff to support the organizations’ missions and objectives. Interns will assist with organizing and executing grassroots advocacy efforts, identifying and attending events with local businesses, and maintaining relations with stakeholders. Interns will also have the opportunity to develop new skills and gain experience in stakeholder management and a better understanding of state and local policy, communication skills, and the experience of working in a team environment, as well as executing on individual projects.
Responsibilities:
Interns will be assigned depending on location and availability. Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Assist CFFE + CFFEA staff with keeping track of state and local government
• Keep track of local political developments and issues
• Assist with Voter Registration drives and “get out the vote” efforts (if in an election year)
• Assist with community outreach and help host and attend events on behalf of CFFE + CFFEA
• Network with small businesses within the community
• Assist in stakeholder management to communicate the organizations’ mission to small businesses and community leaders
Compensation
This is an unpaid internship position, but interns may receive academic credit if approved by their academic institution. The organizations will provide interns with opportunities for professional development, networking, and skill building. The organizations may also provide stipends to cover transportation and other expenses related to the internship.

Duration
The duration of the internship can range from 3-6 months, depending on the intern's availability and the PAC's needs. Interns during the spring/ winter semesters will be required a minimum of 10 hours a week. During the summer program interns will be expected to complete 15-25 hours per week. CFFE will work with the intern to develop a schedule that accommodates the intern's academic and personal commitments.
Agency Qualifications (minimum)
• Currently enrolled in a college or university program, preferably in Political Science, Public Administration, Communications, Business, or any related field
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Familiarity with social media platforms and digital communications tools
• Openness to work flexible hours
• Access to a reliable vehicle and a valid driver's license
