Organization Description:
Fair Elections Center’s Campus Vote Project works with universities, community colleges, faculty, students and election officials to reduce barriers to student voting and helps campuses institutionalize reforms that empower students with the information they need to register and vote.

Internship Description (Paid):
Democracy Fellows are challenged to brainstorm and implement civic engagement programs on their campuses that will remain long after they graduate. Students will:
- Select areas of interest in the civic engagement field.
- Participate in approximately 10hrs/week (flexible) of civic engagement activity (in-person voter interaction, research, brainstorming, participating in events, etc.)
- Meet virtually monthly with the AZ team (40+ students throughout the state) for collaboration and training, meet with AZ state coordinator monthly for a check-in.
- Attend a national (virtual) orientation, 2 discussion blocks, a reflection session, and one piece of additional programming.
Purpose of Internship:
One of the core tenets of the Campus Vote Project is training and uplifting college students to be
civic leaders through our Democracy Fellowship. Through this experience, fellows will:
- connect with student leaders both in-state and nationwide
- participate in non-partisan vote work to ensure that all students feel empowered and educated at the polls
- brainstorm and implement programs on campus that will last after graduation
- learn about civic engagement, voting rights legislation, campus organizing, etc.
- connect with professionals and partner organizations in the civic engagement field
