The intern will interpret for clients who do not speak English and translate documents for clients who do not read English. The intern will work closely with law students who are providing clients with representation as well as with the Director of the clinic and the clinic Fellow. The intern may also interpret at various outreach events and/or for various community partners such as the Mexican Consulate, the Southside Worker Center, Community Food Bank’s Carided Kitchen, and the YWCA of Tucson.

Purpose of the Internship
The purpose of this internship is manifold. It will assist the clinic and its law students to establish and maintain relationships with clinic clients and community partners while providing an undergraduate law student with an opportunity to experience hands-on legal representation.

Proficient in oral and written Spanish
Agency Preferred Qualifications
In BA law program; translation certification
