The Accelerated Master of Public Administration will enable academically talented University of Arizona undergraduates to complete their Bachelors (in CJS, POL, or PMPC) and the Master of Public Administration in as little as five years of study beginning with their freshman year as an undergraduate. This program is intended for students interested in enhancing their qualifications for admission to other graduate programs (such as Ph.D. programs or J.D. programs at law schools) and for students interested in an accelerated masters program.
The program is open to University of Arizona undergraduates majoring in Criminal Justice Studies, Political Science, or Public Management and Policy with a minimum 3.3 GPA. Students typically apply for the program their junior year and if accepted take 12 graduate credits their senior year. They spend their fifth year completing the remaining 24 MPA units, including an internship during the summer.
To Determine Eligibility
Students should meet with an SGPP undergraduate advisor to determine if they are eligible and when they should apply for the program. Students may set up an appointment through the online scheduling system. Students will then need to schedule an appointment with Graduate Programs Manager, Pamela Adams (email@example.com) to determine eligibility and application processes. Once eligibility has been established and a student has been admitted to the AMP program, students must make and appointment with the Graduate Programs Administrative Assistant, Alma Urbina (firstname.lastname@example.org) or 621-7604 in order to be assisted with completing a Undergraduate Enrollment in Graduate Courses Petition. Students are responsible for ensuring the Petition has all necessary signatures.
