About Neil Vance
Neil Vance is Kanbay Chair in Ethical Governance at the School of Government and Public Policy at the University of Arizona. In addition to scholarly articles on applied ethics, the program hosts an annual speaker on ethics in public administration. Neil’s research emphasis in applied ethics is the organization; how it can prevent inappropriate behavior and can facilitate more ethical behavior within the organization.
Neil received his Doctorate in Public Administration from the University of Southern California. Prior to coming to the University of Arizona 17 years ago, he was employed by several Washington DC “think tanks” specializing in criminal justice and organizational change. He teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in applied ethics and criminal justice and has won numerous teaching awards. He has recently developed an Honors Course for undergraduate students called “Ethical Leadership."
