My research tackles the impacts of climate change on resource scarcity, marginalized ethnic groups, environmental migration, and civil conflicts through varying pathways with statistical models and computational social science methods. My long-term research agenda concerns the use of computational social science methods to investigate how climate change reshape different types of human mobility and political violence hotspots. To better understand the mechanisms underlying the relationship among them, one of my ongoing projects collects data on sociopolitical events and human mobility that are stimulated by climate change, disasters, and environmental scarcity through the lens of human right violation and corruption, and changes in issue framing and threat perceptions.
