Arizona Policy Lab Manager

Research Social Scientist

I am a Research Scientist and Lab Manager in the Arizona Policy Lab in the School of Government and Public Policy. My research and teaching interests are in the fields of comparative politics and international relations. My first book project examines how post-conflict countries manage the reconstruction process to simultaneously consolidate political support and minimize threats from new insurgencies. Further, my research focuses on three main themes: 1) policing in the developing world; 2) the interactions between electoral politics and conflict; and 3) the factors shaping the reintegration of deportees. My work on these topics has been published or is forthcoming in Comparative Political StudiesJournal of Conflict ResolutionJournal of Political Institutions & Political Economy, and Social Science & Medicine.
