International Relations

Research and teaching in International Relations in the School of Government & Public Policy is focused upon four major areas: Conflict, Conflict Management, Institutions, and Political Economy. The research questions, and classes taught, have mainly centered on the causes and consequences of conflict (ranging from protests and riots to civil war and terrorism, as well as international disputes and wars), impact of institutions on conflict and cooperation, conflict management, diffusion, global governance, as well as global (and illicit) political economy.
