The Changing Face of American Politics Mini-Conference

Feb. 5, 2019

On Saturday, February 2nd, SGPP hosted a mini-conference entitled “The Changing Face of American Politics.” Ten distinguished speakers and discussants from universities around the country addressed the rapidly changing demographics of American voters, devised new ways to understand discrimination and its consequences, confronted challenges to substantive representation, shared new perspectives on how we acquire political information in an age of social media, and addressed the political consequences of social influence. An engaged audience of over forty attendees from colleges and universities across the southwest provided thoughtful feedback and raised challenging questions about how to understand America’s political climate today.
